The Origin Effects SlideRIG is a highly specialized compressor pedal built for slide and steel guitarists, but it has earned fans well beyond that world — players like David Gilmour and Joey Landreth have used it too. The pedal is built around a classic studio trick: chaining two vintage-style 1176 compressors together, the same technique originally used to create Lowell George's (Little Feat) legendary, endlessly sustaining slide tone on the album "Dixie Chicken."

By running two Cali76 compressor blocks (Origin's own take on the 1176) in series, you get far more compression than a single pedal can offer, while still keeping the character of your tone intact. The result is a clean, transparent sound with near-infinite sustain — ideal for slide playing, but equally at home for shimmering clean tones.

Built with a 100% Class-A discrete signal path, the pedal offers two switchable user presets, making it easy to jump between, say, a subtle compression setting for rhythm and a fuller, boosted setting for solos.
